Been listening to the boys more than usual, which is a lot because, usual for me is a lot.
They are just so good.
So emotive. Poignant and wise. and Balls to walls as they say when they need to be.
Thanks Blues Traveler and crew.
Keep the tunes a coming.
Any chance of new material before the year is out? I can hope, can't I?
i can say that i listen to the cats everyday for hours, again and again. but even Zygote and the JPProject CD. for me its defently the harp playing and voice of johnny ;) its now 07:31 am in germany right now, guess what my alarm sound was :) ... it was "Everything" from the JPProject cd, my phone message sound is "Just Wait" and my ringtone is "Hook" :)

My BT experience has always been life experience related. When I need encouragement, I listen to excellent Four power ballads like "Just Wait" and "Look Around". My nieces and nephews know the line "I can honestly tell you that you make me proud" because I stole it and have used it on them throughout their lives when they need to know it. When I need to cry, I go to "Love of My Life", "Letter from a Friend" and "Borrowed Time". When I need to laugh, its "Go Outside and Drive". When I need to mourn my love life, I go to "Unable to Break Free" and "Sweet and Broken". Somehow, someway, they speak to me and touch me and give me what I need. So, thank you - John, Chan, Brendan, Bobby, Tad and Ben - for the inspiration, solace, and laughter.

They connect with you because John's lyrics are so clever. I know of no other lyricist that is able to communicate like he does, and no other lyricist that see life in such an American Way. Isn't it so American to see life in an honest way, accept the fallibility of the human condition, and yet remain optimistic that something good will come if you keep at it. "But I need to know the reason not to try." Johns lyrics and percussive style of delivering them imprint them on your soul. I know that sounds ridiculous, but think about all the gems of logic and advice he has been able to teach us that we have learned by rote because of the delivery. "You tell me God is dead. Well I say God always was, life, living, dying all at the same time, you know thats all he ever does, could be God is our idea, and ideas never die, created in its image, we seek its light from mount on high give it a try." Bake your noodle on that line, and tell me it is not one of the most optimistic thoughts one could think. Thats BT, and to have a musical sound that supports that without coming off as cream puff, but real, is the beauty of the band and the chemistry of all of the people in the band.
Blues Traveler is a Tapestry, no, a quilt of American music, Hills Rock Steady rythm is the foundation, Chans rythm is soul train funky no doubt, Bens key boards are revival music from the church of Blues Traveler, Tads bass is dare a say a bit of Hip Hop and funk, and Popper has the Harmonica that is part Blues, part Classic, with a rock and roll sensibility that ties it in and makes it relevant to the rest of the band. Its all so freeing, and its all so alive, so happy with a touch of sadness that makes it all so real. Lotsa love to the fellas who are able to pull that off, you were pure and honest and I love you for it.

Its so hard to put your finger on but its just the combination of everything. The fact that they are somewhat of a cult band does it for me because I like being able to go to school and know that im the only person whos favorite band is..... Blues Traveler

same here :) No one know the traveler's in my class, except my drummer :) yesterday i printed 16 20x30cm posters out, today i'm gonna put them on my wall, next to 2 big Blues Traveler Pictures, i will post a picture when i'm home back :)

Bagheera and Popper Freak - you gotta Spread the Traveler. Convert people. I've converted I'd say 6 or 7 people so far, and took 5 to a show and we actually got to meet the band !
Big Poppa Peabody- I know they are not Faith No More and I like that. They are two different bands. Completely. I like Blues Traveler better.

Blues Traveler fans, please allow me to start this blurb out with a disclaimer: I'm not a D-Bag in the truest sense of the word. I merely play one on the computer. Also, I am a personal friend of John's, and type all this garbage out mainly for his amusement. I selfishly do it for my own as well, who am I kidding? Mildly retarded things that might be considered offensive, for me, is like oxygen to humans; a necessary part of survival. It also so happens that I am a writer and out of work, so it's an outlet of sorts for me.
And John, by the way, if you didn't see it on Twitter, I got your voice mail, and it was immediately saved, do to it being one of the most hilarious, frantically, mania-induced messages that I am sure to ever recieve! I don't think that there's a time-limit of any sort on my voice-mail, just for future reference. So go ahead and breathe, my friend. With all of that being spewed, I'd like to thank 'Traveling Cranberry' for at least acknowledging that I posted something within the Community, other than blatant worship and seething gratitude (Again, nothing wrong with that[?]).
I have found you, 'Cranberry', if that's actually your real name... to be correct on one side of things, and then discovered the possibility of a flaw within your "opinion".
You are right because, yes, they are 2 completely different bands. Quite obvious. Currently my imagination runs wild at a very conceptualized possibility, that in a comic book dictated parallel Universe, both groups have the propensity to actually be one and the same. Nonesense you say? Well, duh. But I'm moving on into a numeralogical realm now. Please bear with me, the rambling will (and NEEDS to end soon, I have a busy schedule of nothing ahead of me tonite). If you were to look at the amount of letters in 'Blues Traveler' (13) and 'Faith No More' (11, but 13 if so inclined to include the spaces between the wording). In comic book realms that's all you'd really need to not necessarilly prove that they are alter-egos, but quietly suspect it from a safe distance. I have more to say about the very real possibility of them being the same band. But let's face it, they aren't, and I actuallly have to make a phone call. Perhaps I will run wild on a tangent again in the very near future and digress nearly to the same point of dillusionality. Keep your fingers crossed!
Sadly 'Cranberry', you are wrong as well. And this may simply be my opinion on your opinion (it is). I say you are in err based only on your outrageous claim that you like Blues Traveler better.
My snarkiness matters not however, because the greatest band of all time with no debate, is TOOL. Attempting an argument opposing this is beyond futile and would destroy whatever brain-cells you might have remaining, deeming you unable to have a reasonable discussion, as if the habitual drug use and "dancing" I see you guys doing at the shows hasn't already. If you can't detect sarcasm delivered extra dry on top of all that, sadly, you might just be a lost cause. But they have people out there that volunteer to show you how to use a bus and re-learn how to add and whatnot. Hope remains. Okay so after TOOL, we have Grand Funk Railroad getting an honorable mention, immediately following Fantomas. Put The Melvins in there somewhere too. That will be all from Gregg for now. Gregg, is my real name, friends. John, any serious thought about you guys covering Slayer's, "Angel of Death"? All kidding aside, I wanna' hear you guys do it, and don't "hippie" it up either. Rock that song. And even though Tad loves Mariah Carey's one of a kind Masterpiece of Film, "Butterfly", I have a strong feeling he'd be on board! Just don't eff your throat up again. Leave that to amateurs like myself. Have a fantastic evening fans. And don't forget, as "unbelieveable", "transcendental", and "life-changing" Blues Traveler's music is, has, and will continue to be, crank open that third eye and explore some genre you ordinarilly wouldn't find yourself listening to... You might be surprised at your own personal evolution especially when you're the one instigating it...

I need to give some credit to Brendan. His drumming is beautifully tasteful. Just listen to No Woman, No Cry on Red Rocks.....exceptional. Pair that with John's harmonica solo and it's extrordinary. I have been a drummer for 20+ years. Brendan's stuff may sound simple, but it is very hard to play. Man I love this band. I am starting to enjoy the post Bobby albums more and more....much thanks to Gordan and Cranberry.

Blues Traveler is so good because it makes me happy and gives me energy when I am angry and tired from the fight that is life. I pop BT on when I am coming home, fighting traffic, and low and behold I am singing to myself winding my way effortlessly through traffic that just moments ago I was fighting tooth and nail. All in the Groove Baby!!
