Having Fun In The Studio
January 16th, 2011

The band is all here and we’re throwing down here in Austin, TX. We’ve been up and running now for two weeks now. Lots of great ideas being tossed around. We’re staying at a kick ass ranch outside of town that has a studio a stones throw away. Hence John’s “casual” attire. We’ve had the great pleasure of doing some writing sessions with some truly amazing musicians. Among them are Alejandro Escovedo, Carrie Rodriguez and Ron Sexsmith. We’ve got a few more people coming in to help us hash out ideas so it’s just going to get better and better. We’ll keep you updated of where things are going along the way. We’ll probably end up with more material than we can record in one project so stay tuned for exclusive web site releases and freebies in the coming year. See y’all down the road.

I have been really digging Carrie Rodriguez since I heard of her earlier last year… I am really excited to hear what she brings to BT! and I checked out the video on this site… that tune kinda reminds me of “Some Things I Will Not Pretend” mixed with a little “What Do You Want From Me” which is awesome because i LOVE that “early” sound! Was that intentional? Did anybody else get that? Or just me?
Jesse Sanchez
Oh man I can’t wait to hear your new songs!
Jeff
I saw you guys in Charleston and it was great. Really looking forward to the new stuff.
BTW I just wanted to give a shout out to Ben, who may recall borrowing my M3 a few times back in Ann Arbor. My band the Attic also opened for y’all around then. Lost touch long ago…
Cheers, JH

Hey guys really I like your music. You coulkd not have picked a better place to gel than Austin. I enjoyed working with you at the Eldorado Music Fest in Arkansas last year. I would like you to preform at my festival in Hot Springs. The date is April 8,9,2011. It is always a blast and we have 5 to 6 thousand people attend. I will send in an offer to Kieth @ WME. Hey Guys! John, you probably don’t remember me, but you came into the TGIFriday in Austin, TX, last SXSW. We chatted for a min. or so. I’m a Jersey boy too. Great to hear that you are in Austin, TX. GREAT CITY! I talked to a guy, from Boston, who went to Princeton. He told me that his adviser’s son is in Blues Traveler. He was going back 15 plus years. So who’s dad works at Princeton? Have fun and keep the music playing.
Your Friend and Fan,
Marc

ok so when you guys start to tour again you need to come to Ohio I missed a lot of opportunities to see you play when i was in high school and now that I have gotten back into listening to your music I would really like to see you live. also do you have any tips for a 26 year old trying to pick up the harmonica. i know its never to late to learn an instrument and i already play guitar but I have my doubts about if i will be good at this. should i take lessons or just try to self teach. also to john popper you are awesome and you should check out sonny boy williamson if you haven’t heard of him yet he is on youtube check out bye bye bird or i’m a lonely man. keep on keeping on and if you need any song ideas hit me up lol
