R and R!

July 8th, 2010

Oh my goodness what a blast!!! Thanks so much to all the folks that came out to red rocks and then hung out through the freezing downpours! if someone had told me our red rocks show would involve several rain storms and a severe drop in temperature 5 songs in to our set, i would have gone fetal and cried!! but how wrong i would have been. certainly, all of us there would prefer the elements where they stood during the Banner, but what a blast the night turned out to be. and how memorable. let me just tell all of you fans how gratifying it was for us to to look out there and see so many folks hanging tough. out popped the rain ponchos and the fleece and hats etc…crazier still were the people who remained half clothed!! FREAKS! By Warmer Days I had to jump around just to keep from uncontrollable shivers and there were ladies out there in shorts and tank tops!!! Many many thanks to all of you who hung in there with us. What a ball.

Thought the first album came off pretty well. The changes we have made to the tunes for BT v.02 are subtle but going back to the original arrangements was challenging. Had to have our wits about us!! I was concerned Mr. Seagram may impede certain of our wits but that didn’t seem to be the case:) I particularly love the clap along vocal at the end of Droppin’. May need to resurrect that beast. Although I haven’t heard the tape so I reserve the right to restrict the aforementioned resurrection on the basis of vocal insurrection!!

Off to Thunder Bay!! eh? El Guapo

had a great time at red rocks in spite of the weather!!!! I have to say, having never seen Blues Traveler live before, I was unprepared for how exellent and POWERFUL they were live….. I own a few cds, but the studio doesnt come close to capturing the power and emotion that I heard and felt. My favorite part was John Popper singing “Mountains Fell”, in a downpour………..
    thanks,
    Terry

WOW! Despite the rain, what a great time! It was our first Red Rocks concert and one we will never forget! We planned a long weekend from KY to colorado just so we could come to the concert and we were not disappointed. It was my 9 year olds 4th concert and by far his favorite even in the rain. Looking forward to many more red rocks concerts and concerts in the KY/OH area!
